"No matter how
little money and how few possessions you own, having a dog makes
you rich." - Louis Sabin
My name is
Paula Perry and I have been owned by Shar-Pei for almost twenty
years.
Theo
claimed my heart in December of 1988. I just went to "look", but
who could resist such a face? Certainly not me! Theo was my heart
and soul - I tragically lost him to Lymphosarcoma in Dec '99. He
was 11 years old.
Isaac became co-owner with Theo in May of 1992. I lost
Isaac in June of 1997 to kidney failure caused by Amyloidosis.
In March of 1997 the boys
took in a third partner -- Bailey.
Bailey was our girly-girl. Bailey was a certified Therapy
Dog and had two legs towards her Agility Novice Standard Title.
We unexpectedly lost her to spleen and liver cancer in February
2002. We were devastated and miss her SO much.
In December 1997
Walter joined our family. He is the king of couch potatoes
and tries to keep everyone in line!
Jack
was born in December 2001 and came home at 8 weeks of age. He was
with us for about a month when we lost Bailey. When she started
acting "mopey" I just thought she was jealous of the new puppy
when she really wasn't feeling well.
The newest member of our family is
Katie. Katie is full of personality. Katie was born in
Feb 2002 and came home on Cinco de Mayo! She is related to Bailey
and Jack -- her mother is Bailey's half-sister and Jack's g'ma!
Bailey's daddy is her great g'pa. Katie and Jack have the same
daddy --- got all that?!!
These guys are my kids and
I can't imagine life without them. One of my favorite quotes
is "Dogs are not our whole lives, but they
make our lives whole" --- Roger Caras
